YOUNG WHITES FAN RAISES MONEY FOR THE FOUNDATION

Jack Johnson raises £750 and donates £100 pocket money towards the Leeds United Foundation

A young Whites fan has shown an incredible amount of support to the club and the Leeds United Foundation by not only raising £750 but also donating his own pocket money to a worthy cause.

The young fan, Jack Johnson, aged just eight years old, raised an impressive £750 via the Run For All initiative which saw him run a distance of 1.5km from the Royal Armouries Leeds and finishing there as part of the Jane Tomlinson Run For All Mini Event.

Jack raised £750 which will be donated to the foundation to help with the various Community projects that operate across the City. Going the extra mile, Jack generously donated £100 of his own pocket money to sponsor one of the Leeds United Regional Talent Club girls players Lucy Preston.

The money goes into the RTC fund and forms part of a wider player sponsorship programme. Every pound of Jack's hard earned money will be invested in extending opportunities and quality training for the 62 girls in the RTC.
Jack attended the Leeds United Foundation holiday programme at the Queen Elizabeth Grammar School where he received an award for ‘Best Attitude’. This was where his inspiration began and where he decided to help people.

Not only did he complete the run, Jack has raised money by doing a number of chores around his house, every week for the next year!

A massive Leeds United fan, Jack is always found wearing the full Whites kit and is a great ambassador for not only the club but for the Foundation and is excellent example to others.

As well as raising funds, the young fan has also donated the shirt that he ran the charity race in to the Foundation.

Jack said: “I’m so happy to have raised the money for the Foundation and for Lucy. I love to do anything I can to raise money for things to do with Leeds United and to help people.

“I’ve even done house work to raise money! I love everything to do with Leeds United so it’s great to be involved””

Simon Fox, General Manager at the Leeds Foundation, said: “We are so impressed with Jack and can’t believe his generosity to the foundation – at only aged eight.

“Jack has shown a huge amount of commitment to the foundation and I’m sure all the Leeds fans and staff will join me in congratulating the young fan and wish him luck in future charity initiatives he may find himself involved in.

“Thanks again, Jack – and well done!”
