Elland Road to host RLWC2021 this year

Stadium to host semi-final match.

The Rugby League World Cup is the pinnacle of international sport in Rugby League, and this year’s trail blazing tournament is set to make a real impact across the nation, with the city of Leeds set to play a major part!

For the first time ever, the men’s, women’s and wheelchair tournaments will take place simultaneously across 21 world class venues, giving fans the chance to watch the world’s best rugby league players on the biggest stage.

The legendary Elland Road has the honour of hosting one of the Men’s Semi-Final matches, with the game kicking off at 19:45 on 11th November 2022.

Elland Road isn’t the only place to catch the thrilling Rugby League World Cup 2021 action in the city, with Headingley Stadium also set to host three men’s and four women’s games.

Starting on 15th October, Australia men will take on Fiji men in what will be an exciting group game between two of the tournament favourites. The following day will see Jamaica men take on Ireland men, and 28th October will see New Zealand men vs Ireland men.

Headingley Stadium will then hold the official opening games for the women’s tournament on 1st November, which will be a double header of England women vs Brazil women and Papa New Guinea women vs Canada women. England fans can once again catch England women in action on 9th November when they come up against Papa New Guinea, with Canada women and Brazil women completing the double header line-up later that day.

In addition to hosting more Rugby League World Cup games than any of the other cities, Leeds will also be ‘home’ to six teams during their time in the tournament. The men’s teams from Jamaica and Ireland and the women’s team from England, Papa New Guinea, Brazil and Canada will all be setting up base in the city.

With some of rugby league’s biggest stars expected to be in action at both of the Leeds’ venues, tickets are selling fast with some categories already sold out. Don’t miss your chance to witness the biggest, best and most inclusive Rugby League World Cup in history.

Prices start from just £30 per ticket for the match at Elland Road. For more information and ticketing information, please visit www.RLWC2021.com
