An exciting job opportunity has arisen at Leeds United FC for a Sous Chef in our Kitchens based at our training ground, Thorp Arch, Wetherby.

The ideal candidate would be responsible for supporting and managing the smooth and efficient operation of the Kitchen, providing high quality nutritious food for the first team players, academy staff and all support staff whilst being able to demonstrate an understanding of sports nutrition and its impact on performance, demonstrating innovation, creativity and the ability to work under pressure.

Some of the main duties would include:

       To Plan and direct food preparation and culinary activities

       Agree menus with senior fitness and management staff

       Check freshness of food and ingredients

       Order and maintain inventory of food and supplies needed to ensure efficient operations in line with budget requirements

       Inspect supplies, equipment and work areas for cleanliness and functionality

       Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs

       Supervise the Kitchen Assistant’s activities

       Recruit and manage kitchen staff

       Perform administrative duties as required

       Have an awareness of customers on meal deductions

       Handle cash from customers not on meal deductions and submit to line manager on a daily basis

       Maintain a positive and professional approach with co-workers and customers

       Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards

       Provide 1st team, Academy U21 players and all staff with breakfast (Monday-Friday)

       Provide 1st team, Academy U21, U18 and all staff with lunch (Monday-Friday)

       Provide 1st team with post-training meal as required

       Provide 1st team with breakfast and lunch on weekend days as required

       Provide Academy U21 players and staff with post-match meal (Home matches)

       Provide Academy day-release players with post training meal (Tuesday & Thursday)

 

The ideal candidate will also have:

       Knowledge and experience of working in a fast paced kitchen environment

       Knowledge of food, ingredients and kitchen food safety requirements

       A catering and hospitality qualification

       Food Hygiene Certificate Level 3

       Experience working as a chef

       Experience within an organisation where large numbers for catering are required including various food services
