1,000 fans to receive free drinks vouchers ahead of Liverpool clash.
Leeds United are delighted to announce that as part of our long-term sustainability strategy, from Sunday the club will be using reusable cups at Elland Road for home matchdays.
The club is committed to improving and developing their sustainability policies and are thrilled to be working closely in partnership with Gather who are equally as committed to promoting sustainability and social causes.
The introduction of reusable cups at Elland Road will save over 350,000 single use plastic cups being sent for disposal or recycling each season.
Fans will be able to dispose of the new branded Gather and Leeds United cups in a number of new cup collection bins that have been installed around the concourses and sign posted for supporters, this will ensure they can be collected, washed and reused for the next matchday.
Gather are also committed to having fun and engaging with the Leeds United fanbase, as previously shown through the fantastic event hosted by the organisation in the Pavilion ahead of the Manchester United fixture, which was incredibly well received by our supporters.
As part of our work with Gather and to celebrate the introduction and use of branded reusable cups at the stadium, Gather will be offering 1,000 loyal Leeds United supporters the opportunity to enjoy a free drink ahead of our match against Liverpool on Sunday afternoon.
Representatives from Gather will be in attendance at Elland Road from 1pm onwards (KO 4.30pm), located in the North East Corner Fan Zone, meeting and greeting Leeds fans and the first 1,000 supporters to simply register and sign up to the free Gather App waitlist will receive a drinks voucher that entitles them to enjoy either a free pint or free soft drink from one of the new reusable cups. The paper drinks vouchers will only be redeemable on Sunday at bars located in the North East Corner Fan Zone.
A live band and DJ will also be on hand to provide fans in the North East Corner Fan Zone with a great selection of tunes to help get the pre-match atmosphere building from 1pm.
There will also be QR codes on each cup that will enable fans to enter a competition to win tickets to home games and learn more about Gather and the investment opportunities they offer.
Leeds United will continue working towards a plastic free environment for ground catering with the use of alternative materials and reusable schemes.
