Leeds United announce three-year extension with BBC Radio Leeds

New deal agreed with local radio station.

Leeds United are pleased to announce BBC Radio Leeds have signed a new three-year commentary deal to continue its coverage of the club.

The renewed agreement means that the Leeds based radio station will now provide exclusive commentary of all Leeds United fixtures, both home and away, until the end of the 2023/2024 campaign.

As part of the partnership, BBC Radio Leeds will continue to supply full match coverage for our supporters, with commentary provided for every game by Adam Pope and Noel Whelan and interviews with players and staff throughout the next three seasons.

Angus Kinnear, Chief Executive of Leeds United Football Club, said: “We are delighted to announce an extension to our partnership with BBC Radio Leeds, who have been crucial in keeping supporters involved with games during the lockdown period.

“We feel it’s fitting that we reveal the extension a year after the last game at a full Elland Road.

“Adam and Noel’s commentary helped our fans experience Pablo’s goal at Swansea, Patrick’s hat-trick at Aston Villa and of course our trophy lift at home in July.

“Our close relationship with the station continues and we look forward to what the next few years may bring.”

Sanjiv Buttoo Managing Editor BBC Radio Leeds added: “We are really pleased that BBC Radio Leeds is continuing its long association with the club.

“We will be able to keep bringing listeners live coverage of every home and away game for the next three seasons.

“Leeds United are back in the Premier League where they belong and we wish them every success for the future.”
