Leeds United are delighted to announce that Toshiya Fujita has joined the club as Head of Football Development.
Fujita had an impressive career as a player representing Japan on 24 occasions, scoring three times. Whilst most of his career was spent in Japanese leagues, he did also enjoy a spell at Dutch side FC Utrecht. Fujita was also the President of the Japan Professional Footballers between 2007-2012.
Since retiring from the game in 2012, he spent three years as Assistant Head Coach at Dutch Eredivisie side VVV Venlo between 2014-2017.
Fujita’s duties at Leeds United will include defining the clubs sporting and commercial strategies in Asia as well as growing our presence in the market and developing exciting partnerships with clubs across the region.
