Leeds United are delighted to announce that Sonny Perkins has won the Premier League 2 Division 2 Player of the Month award, for August.

The 18-year-old forward scored a thoroughly impressive five goals throughout the opening month of the campaign, finding the net in every match he has featured in along the way!

He began by slotting home in the first game of the season against Derby County, before then following that up with a home goal against Norwich City and then a double away at Aston Villa. Perkins’ latest strike came in that 5-1 thumping over Nottingham Forest. 

Perkins was selected as the winner by the Premier League Football Development Panel after PL2 club coaches chose the best performance by an opposing player, in each of their league matches during August.

Sonny and his teammates will be in action again on Friday evening as Michael Skubala’s side take on Southampton at Elland Road, with thousands packing in under the lights to support the Under-21s in their top-of-the-table clash.
