Joe Gelhardt Nominated For September\'s PL2 Player of the Month

Striker nominated after impressive month for the U23s

Leeds United's Joe Gelhardt has been nominated for the Premier League 2 Player of the Month award after several standout performances in September.

After providing an assist and scoring two sensational goals in a 4-0 win at Liverpool, including one from the halfway line, the striker followed up with a brace in a 4-4 draw at home to Blackburn.

His performances for the U23s saw Gelhardt awarded with an appearance in Leeds' win against Fulham in the Carabao Cup, with the 19-year-old scoring in the penalty shootout.

Gelhardt has been shortlisted alongside six other players, who have been selected by the Premier League's Football Development Panel after PL2 coaches picked out the best display by an opponent in each of their league matches. The Panel will reconvene over the coming week to decide who wins the prize.
