U23 forward up for accolade
Leeds United U23s forward Joe Gelhardt has been nominated for the Premier League 2 Player of the Month award after his standout performances in March.
A goal and assist for Gelhardt in the 2-1 triumph over Newcastle United was followed by a hat-trick in our 5-0 win at West Bromwich Albion in Division 2.
Gelhardt's form was rewarded as he was named among the substitutes in Leeds' 2-1 victory at Fulham in the Premier League.
Their first season in the league, the U23s are racing their way to the title, 13 points clear of second-place Stoke City, with the Potters only having five games left.
This is the third nomination of the season for the U23s, Sam Greenwood winning the award in September and Cody Drameh nominated in February.
The shortlist has been selected by the Premier League's Football Development Panel after PL2 club coaches nominated the best performance by an opponent in each of their league matches. The Panel will also decide the winner.
