Mark Jackson to lead Under-23s

New role for Jackson.

Leeds United are delighted to announce current Under-18s head coach Mark Jackson has been promoted to take the reins of our Under-23s side, succeeding Carlos Corberan who moved to Huddersfield Town.

Jackson began his own professional career at the club, representing the Whites between 1995 and 2000 and was capped by England at Under-20 level.

His coaching career at Leeds began in November 2015, taking charge of the Under-15s and Under-16s, before becoming head coach of the Under-18s.

During Jackson’s time with the Under-18s, he has enjoyed great success winning the Professional Development League title in 2018.

This latest promotion will see Jackson preside over our Under-23s side who start their Premier League 2 campaign against Stoke City this evening.

Speaking about the new role, Jackson said: “I’m delighted to be thought of for the role and it is a very privileged position to be in at this football club.

“It is a chance for me to step up, it is a great opportunity and one I am looking forward to with excitement.”

Members of Marcelo Bielsa’s backroom staff will take the team tonight whilst Jackson observes, officially taking over the role from tomorrow.
