Gabriel Kyerematen scored all four goals as Leeds United were defeated 4-0 against Stoke City in the first game of the season in Premier League 2.

It took Stoke less than 60 seconds to take the lead.  After winning a corner with Kyerematen converting Ryan Corrigan’s set-piece from close range.

After an even period, Joe Gelhardt worked room for a shot from range and wasn’t far away from finding the target.

Stoke doubled their lead in the 27th minute.  Kyerematen latched onto a loose pass and played Douglas Taylor through on goal and he was felled by Bryce Hosannah in the Leeds box resulting in a penalty and Kyerematen made no mistake.

Leeds almost found a route back into the game 10 minutes later when Gelhardt won a penalty of his own, but he was denied from the spot by Blondy Nna Nouk who made a really good save.

Adam Porter went close to adding a third for the hosts when he tried a curling effort from distance, which almost found the top corner.

Just before the break, Porter again tried his luck from 25 yards, with his strike going just inches over the crossbar.

Half time: Stoke City 2-0 Leeds United

Leeds made a bright start after the break with Jordan Stevens firing a dangerous ball across the face of goal, but no Whites player could get on the end of it.

Kyerematen completed his hat-trick in the 60th minute.  He broke through on goal and despite being denied at first by Elia Caprile, he found the net with the rebound.

Two minutes later Leeds almost pulled a goal back when Gelhardt found space for a shot in the Stoke area, but Nna Nouk produced another fine stop to deny him once more.

Kyerematen then netted his fourth of the night after latching onto a loose ball to break through on goal, before converting past Caprile.

Robbie Gotts went close to getting on the scoresheet when he hit a strike from 25 yards, but his attempt just too high.

Gotts was again denied a consolation goal with three minutes remaining after he was picked out by Greenwood in the Stoke box, but once more Nna Nouk refused to be beaten, pulling off another brilliant stop, before Gelhardt drove forwards before unleashing a powerful strike, which clipped the post.
