CALLUM NICELL SIGNS NEW CONTRACT
Midfielder pens fresh terms.
Leeds United are pleased to confirm Callum Nicell has signed a new contract with the club.
The promising 18-year-old, who has been with the Leeds United Academy since the age of seven, has put pen to paper on a new deal which runs until June 2020.
The midfielder played a pivotal role for the Under-18s last season as they won the Professional Development League North.
This season he has stepped up to Under-23s level and has been a key player in helping Carlos Corberan’s side to an unbeaten start to the 2018/19 campaign.
He celebrated his new contract by scoring his first goal of the season in Friday’s 5-0 victory over Bristol City at Elland Road.
Nicell will now be looking to follow in the footsteps of Tom Pearce, Kalvin Phillips and Jamie Shackleton who have made a first team breakthrough from the Academy.
