BOBBY KAMWA SIGNS PROFESSIONAL TERMS

Midfielder rewarded with pro deal.

Leeds United are pleased to confirm promising Academy prospect Bobby Kamwa has signed professional terms with the club.

The midfielder has put pen to paper on a two-and-a-half-year deal running until June 2020.

Kamwa has played a key role in Mark Jackson’s Under-18s side this season, who currently sit third in the Professional Development League North, just three points off top spot.

He becomes the latest young Academy player to sign professional terms, following in the footsteps of Jack Clarke and Clarke Oduor.

Speaking about the new contract, Academy Manager Adam Underwood said: “Bobby has made good progress during his scholarship and this has been recognised with his first professional contract.

“It represents the next step on the ladder for Bobby and everyone at Thorp Arch is really pleased for him.

“He is one of a number of local Academy players that will move from the Under-18s into the Under-23s next season, which will further strengthen our pool of talented young professionals.”

Kamwa will now be looking to emulate the likes of Bailey Peacock-Farrell and Tom Pearce, who have recently broken into the first team from the Academy.
