U23S BOOSTED BY SUMMER SIGNINGS

Productive summer for Adam Underwood and his team...

The summer months have been busy for Leeds United’s Academy with various exciting additions to the Under 23 squad, with the club attracting talent from across the UK and Europe, as Adam Underwood and his team look to produce the next generation of academy graduates.

19 year old midfielder Alejandro Machuca has moved from Rayo Vallecano on a deal which runs until 2020, whilst striker Adrian Balboa, who previously represented Catalonia based amateur side Unif. Bellvitge, has also agreed a contract for the same period.

Joining The Whites from FC Barcelona, central defender Oriol Rey (19) has signed a 2 year contract, whilst striker Kun Temenuzhkov (17) will remain with the club until at least 2020, with both looking to make an impact with the Under 23s.

The side is further bolstered with 18 year old right back Bryce Hosannah, who recently left Crystal Palace, Hugo Diaz who joins Leeds from SD Huesca, and Ousama Siddiki from Real Madrid.

The likes of Lewie Coyle, Tyler Denton, Kalvin Phillips and Ronaldo Vieira have all made the step up to the senior squad in the past few seasons and have been rewarded with new contracts this summer demonstrating the importance of the work done by the staff at academy level.

Academy Manager Adam Underwood said, “This has been a really productive summer for the club at every level and we are now in a position to attract players from across the world as well as having a keen focus on the UK and particularly Yorkshire. We are excited to try and progress players to the first team and we hope to continue our tradition of producing young footballers for our first team.”
