Under-10s beat Everton 5-0 in final to become Champions.

Leeds United Under-10s became the National Champions at the Futsal Finals on Sunday afternoon.

The tournament was hosted by the Premier League across the weekend at Birmingham Football Arena with seven other teams from around the country involved, including; Arsenal, Leicester City, West Ham United, Derby County, Fulham, Everton and Manchester City.

The Academy team beat Everton Under-10s 5-0 in the final after defeating Fulham 4-3 in the semi-finals. Before making it through to the semi-final they had to face six of the seven teams involved, winning two of their matches, drawing two and narrowly losing the other two.

The format of the tournament allows players to develop their confidence on the ball, and their decision-making skills and improve their ball retention. Players are also able to experience a competitive tournament in an enjoyable environment which focuses on enhancing the player's love of the game.

The Under-10s were accompanied by a number of Academy staff at the tournament, including Andy Wood who is the Head of Under-9s through to the Under-12s at Thorp Arch. Andy and his team also led the team to glory earlier in the season at the regional tournament.

Congratulations to all of the players involved in the tournament - they have been commended not only for winning and the quality of football they played but also for their impeccable behaviour throughout the weekend.
