Whites comeback to win.

Leeds United 2 (Machuca 72, 81) Queens Park Rangers 1 (Otem 38)

A brace from Alex Machuca saw Leeds bounce back from the disappointment of Monday’s loss at Millwall with all three points at Elland Road.

Kamil Miazek had to be at his best early on to deny Aramide Otem from 12 yards out, whilst Jack Clarke saw a curling shot was well held by QPR stopper Marcin Brzozowski.

Ryan Edmondson was then inches away from giving the hosts the lead, but he couldn’t quite connect with a Callum Nicell centre.

Leeds almost went in front from a free-kick, but Oriol Rey saw his effort from the edge of the box go just wide.

Machuca saw a low drive saved by Brzozowski, whilst at the other end Chay Tilt picked up a loose kick from Miazek, but his shot was wayward.

Otem then gave the visitors the lead when he smashed the ball into the Leeds net following a mix up at the back.

Zenon Styliandes had the first chance of the note in the second period but shot wide of Miazak’s goal, before Miazak then did really well to claw out Tilt’s free kick.

Miazek was again called into action as he turned away Odysseus Alfa’s shot for a corner, whilst at the other end Bryce Hosannah shot over from an acute angle.

Leeds equalised when Alex Machuca picked up a loose ball following a Ryan Edmondson shot which was spilled by the Hoops keeper and he fired in off the post.

Moments later Leeds were then reduced to 10 men when Romario Vieira was sent off, when he picked up a second yellow card.

Otem then had a glorious chance to restore the visitors lead, but his first shot hit the post before his second was cleared off the line.

Machuca then gave Leeds the lead with a strike curling in from the right hand side with nine minutes to go, to secure the Whites three points.
