Professional Development League

Bolton Wanderers 2 (Hall 1, Temenuzhkov 90+1) Leeds United 2 (Hosannah 41, Lonsdale 58)

Leeds United Under-23s substitute Kun Temenuzhkov scored an injury time equaliser to earn a share of the spoils on the road at Bolton Wanderers.

In difficult, foggy conditions, United made the worst possible start, with Bolton taking the lead inside the first minute, striker Connor Hall rounded Will Huffer, before slotting the ball into the net.

Jack Clarke did well to break into the Bolton box from the left flank, but his crucial pass was intercepted by Bolton stopper Mark Howard.

Hall then beat the offside trap once more, but this time he was unable to beat Huffer from a narrow angle, with the Leeds goalkeeper making a good stop.

Liam Edwards headed just over from a Josh King corner in the 15th minute, before Bolton striker Hall went through one-on-one with Huffer, but the Whites goalkeeper made another fine stop.

Just before the 30 minute mark, the troublesome Hall again went through on goal, but once more, Huffer saved Leeds.

Leeds got into the game during the latter stages of the first half, Clarke fired a low effort just wide from the edge of the box.

The Whites could have leveled from a well worked set-piece, Clarke broke into the box from the left side and was denied, the ball then fell to Hugo Diaz, but he was denied at point blank range.

From the resulting corner, Paudie O’Connor almost equalised for Leeds, Howard flapped and O’Connor’s effort was cleared off the line by Liam Morris.

United did level four minutes from the break, Bryce Hosannah played a fine one-two with Jamie Shackleton, before breaking into the Bolton area and slotting home superbly.

Two minutes later, Hosannah found himself in the Bolton box once more, after Oliver Sarkic laid the ball off to him, he tried to dink the ball over the outcoming Howard, but the Wanderers stopper kept the scores level.

Half Time: Bolton Wanderers 1-1 Leeds United

After the break Leeds started brightly, Clarke got to the byline, but he couldn’t find anyone with his pull back.

Sarkic then did well to drive upfield, but he scuffed his shot from the edge of the box, resulting in an easy save for Howard.

Bolton took the lead once more in the 58th minute, King played a low corner to Cole Lonsdale on the edge of the box and he smashed home.

Leeds went close from a corner of their own, Diaz saw a header deflect just wide.

Hosannah then did brilliantly down the right, he picked out substitute Alex Machuca on the edge of the box, but he couldn’t beat Howard.

Pearce had an impact from the bench and almost provided an assist five minutes from time, he floated a lovely cross to the back post and Hosannah’s looping header was cleared off the line by Harry Brockbank.

However Leeds were not to be denied a point, when Kun Temenuzhkov smashed home a low corner in the 91st minute, to cause mass celebrations amongst the United players.
