Whites back on home turf.

Leeds United Women return to FA WNL Division One North action this weekend, welcoming Norton & Stockton Ancients to the BD Community Stadium.

The fixture comes after a two-week break from league action, with the Whites enjoying a strong run of form across the FA Cup and FA WNL Cup.

Simon Wood’s side booked their place in the first round of the FA Cup with a convincing victory over Stockton Town Ladies, with Alice Hughes claiming the match ball after scoring a hat-trick. Brittany Sanderson, Abi Coley, Darcie Greene and Drew Greene also found the net twice each.

Prior to that, Leeds faced Bradford City Women twice in the space of a week, securing back-to-back victories over their West Yorkshire rivals.

A 2-0 league win on the road extended the Whites’ perfect start to the Division One North campaign, before they followed it up with a 4-1 victory to progress through the FA WNL Cup group stage.

Leeds were at their free-flowing best in the latter, more recent fixture, scoring twice in each half to comfortably see off the Bantams.

Norton & Stockton also progressed in the FA Cup last weekend, beating Salford City Lionesses 3-1. First-half goals from Sacha Millward, Bianca Owens and Eve Marshall secured their place in the first round draw.

The visitors currently sit seventh in the Division One North standings, with eight points separating the two sides. Leeds, meanwhile, remain top of the table with a 100 per cent record from their opening five fixtures.

Action from the BD Community Stadium gets underway at 2pm.

The view from inside the camp:

Ahead of the game, Whites' forward Brittany Sanderson said: "We're really excited to get back into the league after two weeks in the cups.

"It’s always nice to have a bit of a break and use the cup games to try new things. I think we all are ready to get back into league action now and pick up from where we left off. It’ll be nice to be back at home as well.
