The match officials for Leeds United’s Premier League clash with West Ham United on Friday evening have been announced, with Stuart Attwell set to take charge at Elland Road.
Over the span of his career, the Warwickshire-based referee has officiated 607 fixtures, with 223 of those coming in the Premier League.
The 43-year-old has blown the whistle on 22 occasions including the Whites, overseeing 11 victories and three draws.
Most recently, Attwell was in the middle for Leeds’ dramatic victory over Sunderland last season, as Pascal Struijk headed a 95th-minute winner to come from behind and return to the top of the Championship.
West Ham, on the other hand, have struggled for form in clashes involving the referee, losing 13 times of the 24 games he has officiated. Most recently, the Hammers fell to a 2-1 defeat away at Chelsea last campaign.
Attwell’s last appearance in the Premier League was nearly three weeks ago as he took charge of Manchester United’s 2-0 win over Sunderland at Old Trafford.
Keeping up with the action from Stockley Park is Video Assistant Referee Craig Pawson and Additional VAR Adrian Holmes.
