The match officials for Leeds United’s Sky Bet Championship clash with West Bromwich Albion on Saturday have been announced, with Farai Hallam set to take charge at Elland Road.

The former footballer, who enjoyed stints with Stevenage and in the Spanish lower leagues, turned to refereeing after calling time on his playing career.

Since then, the Surrey-based official has progressed through a number of roles, including as the FA’s Senior Referee Officer, before focusing on officiating.

So far this campaign, the referee has overseen 29 matches to date across several divisions, featuring in the middle of six Sky Bet Championship encounters.

Most recently, Hallam was on Wearside to oversee Hull City’s 1-0 victory over Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.

Saturday’s fixture will mark the first time the official has ever been involved in a game featuring either the Whites or the Baggies.
