The match officials for Leeds United’s Sky Bet Championship clash with Watford on Saturday have been confirmed, with Jeremy Simpson set to take charge.

The Lancashire based official is part of the Select Group 2 list of referees and took charge of his first EFL match in the 2011/12 campaign.

Simpson last refereed Leeds in October 2018 against Brentford in a 1-1 draw at Elland Road. Brentford opened the scoring from the penalty spot through Neal Maupay, with Pontus Jansson rescuing a late point, prior to Luke Ayling being dismissed in injury time.

In total, Simpson has taken charge of Leeds on 11 occasions in his career, with the Whites winning five times, drawing four times and losing twice, issuing 32 yellow cards and two red cards. He has awarded two penalty kicks to Leeds and given one against.

Simpson last refereed Watford in their 1-1 draw with Blackburn Rovers back in February.

Saturday will be the fifth time he has taken charge of a Watford fixture, to date the Hornets have won two and drawn two.  In those games he issued eight yellow cards to Watford players and awarded one penalty kick against them.

Simpson’s last match officiating was last Saturday as Huddersfield Town recorded a 2-0 home win over Rotherham United.
