Mark Jackson’s Under 23s travel to Rockliffe Park to take on Middlesbrough Under 23s, in their latest Premier League 2 clash (1pm).
The Whites head into the game in good form, that has seen them go nine points clear at the top of the table. From 14 matches, Jackson’s side have won 10, drawn one and lost three, scoring a division-high 36 goals in the process.
Middlesbrough are currently in 9th position in league standings. Boro are on a four-match run without a victory, their last taste of success coming back in November away at Wolves. They do have games in hand over their nearest rivals though, which - if won - could propel them up the table.
In charge of the youngsters looking to progress through at the Riverside is Graeme Lee. The former defender who made over 500 career appearances was put in charge in June 2019.
Joint top-scorers for Boro are midfielder Isaac Fletcher and forward Rumarn Burrell. Both players have four so far in the campaign and will need to be watched closely. Still leading the way for the Whites is Sam Greenwood, with seven.
A win for the hosts could see them move as high as fifth in the table, whereas Leeds will be looking to get the victory and extend their lead at the top.
