Leeds United Under-21s are back in Premier League 2 action on Saturday morning (11am), where they take on Middlesbrough Under-21s away from home.

The Whites travel to Rockliffe Park Training Ground aiming to continue their fine form in the league this season, and return to winning ways after a first competitive defeat of the season on Tuesday night away at Bolton Wanderers, in the Papa John’s Trophy.

Michael Skubala’s side sit top of the table after seven matches, having won six and drawn one of their opening fixtures, including successes in their last five in a row.

That gives the Whites a three point gap over second placed Norwich, whilst also having a game in hand over the Yellows, after they drew on Friday evening with West Bromwich Albion.

Middlesbrough also come into the game well placed after a productive beginning to their campaign. The Reds sit in fourth place, with four wins, two draws and two defeats from their eight matches.

Top scorer for Saturday’s hosts is Calum Kavanagh. The 19-year-old Irish forward has scored four up to now, with one assist also to his name, meaning he will be a danger to watch in this clash.

Mateo Joseph has eight to his name from seven matches played, whilst Sonny Perkins has scored seven up to now, meaning the pairing have netted 15 out of the 25 goals the team has scored so far.

A win for Leeds on Saturday in the North East would see them extend their lead over second-placed Norwich, whilst Boro could move up into second place themselves, above both the Canaries and third placed West Brom.
