Leeds United Under-21s are back in Premier League 2 action as they welcome Norwich City Under-21s to the LNER Community Stadium on Friday evening, with kick off at 7pm.
Scott Gardner’s side come into the clash looking to bounce back after being narrowly defeated away at Leicester City at the start of the week.
League form has been hard to come by for a side plagued by injuries in recent weeks, but the Whites have enjoyed success in the Premier League Cup, with Sonny Perkins' last-gasp goal sealing a terrific comeback away at AFC Bournemouth to book a place in the quarter-finals of the competition.
Despite not yet meeting in the league this campaign, it could prove to be a familiar opposition for a number of players, after United's U18s side beat their Norwich counterparts in the FA Youth Cup Third Round, courtesy of goals from Marley Wilson and Dan Toulson.
Norwich meanwhile are enduring a difficult spell themselves in the league, without a win in six and losing four of their last five, and were recently knocked out of the Premier League Cup by Chelsea.
They last tasted victory in the PL2 at the start of December, as goals from Pedro Lima, Joe Duffy and a Ken Aboh brace fired the Canaries to a resounding 4-0 win over Blackburn Rovers.
The two sides did face each other twice last season as the Whites went on to earn promotion. Goals from Mateo Joseph and Perkins helped Leeds to a 2-2 draw on home turf at Thorp Arch, before losing out away from home to an experienced Norwich side, despite a second-half brace from Connor Douglas.
