Leeds United Under-21s return to Premier League 2 action on Friday afternoon, facing fierce rivals Manchester United Under-21s at Thorp Arch.
The encounter comes a week after Scott Gardner’s side fell to defeat against a strong Manchester City team though, like in their previous defeat on the road against Liverpool, the Whites did have chances.
In that clash on Merseyside, Leeds had taken the lead through Marley Wilson but the hosts, after levelling proceedings despite a fine display from goalkeeper Darryl Ombang, snatched all three points controversially from the spot with the final touch of the match.
Leeds began the year with a thoroughly deserved victory over Reading, before also facing Stoke City and Arsenal in the PL2 and RSC Anderlecht on European duties.
The Whites currently sit 22nd in the congested league standings with 14 points from their opening 13 encounters, while the visitors are second.
The away side go into the clash having won four of their last seven games in all competitions, though they drew 1-1 at home to Derby County last time out.
The teams last met a season ago, as the Whites were held to a 2-2 draw in March despite goals from Harry Gray and Alfie Cresswell.
Action from Thorp Arch gets underway at 1pm.
