U21s Preview: Leeds United vs Brighton & Hove Albion

The Whites host the Seagulls on Monday evening.

LNER York

Leeds United Under-21s return to Premier League 2 action on Monday evening, as they welcome Brighton & Hove Albion Under-21s to the LNER Community Stadium.

Just four points separate the two teams going into the clash, with the Whites enjoying a rich vein of form recently that has seen them collect seven points from the last nine available.

A well-deserved draw was earned first in the capital as Scott Gardner’s side put in an impressive display against a strong Chelsea outfit, before a Harry Gray brace completed a stellar comeback against Derby County away from home to run out 2-1 winners.

Tied deep into stoppage time against Norwich City previously, a last-gasp winner from skipper Alfie Cresswell fired United to another important win, again by a 2-1 scoreline, helping his team to rise to 14th in the PL2 standings before this weekend’s round of fixtures got underway.

Brighton, meanwhile, sit in eighth, though the Seagulls have struggled for form as of late, without a win in five and losing twice in that spell. Last time out, Shannon Ruth’s side were held to a 1-1 draw on home soil by Aston Villa.

Action from the LNER Community Stadium gets underway at 7pm.

The Whites leave it late against the Canaries:
