Daniel Farke hopes to have winger Daniel James available for selection again when Manchester United visit Elland Road on Sunday.
The pacy attacker returned from international duty with a small injury that saw him sidelined for last weekend’s trip to Arsenal, but a place in the matchday squad could be in store for the Elland Road encounter.
“After his back problems, he was obviously out for around 10 days, missed also the last final game for his national team,” the Leeds manager explained.
“So since yesterday he was back on the pitch with us. Right now, we have to wait how his body reacts. But at least good news with him – he is back in training and seems to be improved, yes. The intensity in the last days was not too high.
“We have to wait right now also how his body reacts and how he comes through the last two sessions before the game but there is a chance that he is involved.”
With everyone else fit and ready for selection, it leaves just mid-term absentee Joe Rodon unavailable for Sunday, despite the defender’s great progress at Thorp Arch.
“Joe will still miss his game,” Farke added. “We spoke at the beginning of this injury. It would last eight to 10 weeks. I think we are right now on week seven so he is edging closer.
“He is doing good progress with his rehab work so it won’t be too long until he is back in team training but not yet, and for that also not in contention for this upcoming game.”
