Stuart Dallas has spoken with the media, ahead of Sunday’s highly-anticipated clash with Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Dallas was a goal-scorer in Wednesday night’s win over Newcastle United, netting a composed back-post header. He reflected on the game.

“I think it is always good when you get a positive result,” Dallas said.

“Obviously we were coming off the back of two disappointing results, so it was important we bounced back.

“We’ve now given ourselves a platform to try and build on. It was a difficult game on Wednesday but one we needed to win.”

Moving onto Sunday’s big Premier League fixture against Manchester United, the versatile Leeds player knows the importance of the match and wanted to stress the need to prepare properly for it.

He said: “We know how significant the game is and how big it is.

“But at the end of the day it’s just another game, we need to concentrate and make sure we’re prepared for it.

“We know how good they are and the threat they pose.

“It’s a pity there will be no fans in the stadium, we’ve all waited a long time for this.

“It’s the bread and butter as you call it, well we do where I am from anyway!

“It’s huge, it’s one we’re really looking forward to and hopefully we can go there and pull out a performance."

Dallas had a slight taste of the fixture during the pre-season tour of Australia. The Whites lost on the day and the Northern Ireland international had some war wounds, but he feels the side are now better placed for that learning experience.

“There were a few rough tackles flying around and I ended up with a few stitches, but it was accidental.

“The game was a massive learning curve for us, we were playing Premier League opposition out there and it showed.

“I think we’re ready now to go to places like that and put in a performance.”
