Stuart Dallas scored the all important second goal for Leeds United as they gained three excellent Premier League points, at home to Burnley.

Elland Road erupted as Dallas’ 77th minute strike hit the back of the net and when Dan James added a third in stoppage time, the win was secured.

Speaking after the match, the versatile midfielder gave his views on the game.

He said: “We’re delighted with the win and the performance as well, I thought we were good.

“We had a few shaky moments as the game went on, but we are delighted that we have come through a very difficult period in the last few weeks and months.

“I thought today was a good performance and a huge three points for us.

“I felt we had a belief about us when we went forward and we were very, very dangerous on the counter attack. Particularly in the first half, we had a number of breakaway chances.

“We were playing against difficult opposition today and I felt we also defended really well.

“We’ve come in for some criticism in recent weeks regarding our defending, but I thought the centre-halves stood up really well to the physical side today.”

Dallas’ left-footed strike was his first of the season and he was pleased to get off the mark, in front of some special guests in the crowd!

“It’s been too long coming this season!” Dallas explained, on his goal.

“I haven’t scored as many as I would have liked and I am delighted with it, and in front of my family as well who were sitting in there somewhere, my kids will be buzzing with that.

“We knew how big today was, it’s only three points but it stretches us away from the bottom three.

“We can’t rest on that, at this club we can’t settle for scraping above that, we have to aim for higher.

"Fingers crossed it is something to build on."
