The match officials for Leeds United’s Sky Bet Championship fixture with Stoke City at the Bet365 Stadium on Wednesday have been confirmed, with Paul Tierney set to take charge.

The Greater Manchester based official is part of the Select Group 1 of referees, whilst has also previously been on the FIFA international referees list.

He last refereed Leeds in the 1-1 Premier League draw with Leicester City at Elland Road, back in April.

In total he has taken charge of 22 matches involving the Whites, with Leeds winning eight, drawing three and losing 11. In those games he has issued 44 yellow cards and two red cards to Leeds players.

Tierney last refereed Stoke City on New Year’s Day in 2019, as the Potters suffered a 2-0 home defeat at the hands of Bristol City in the Sky Bet Championship.

In total he has officiated in four Stoke City games, in which they have lost twice, drawn once and progressed once via penalties in the Carabao Cup. In those matches he issued nine yellow cards to Stoke players.

This will be the first time Tierney has refereed in the Championship this season, with five games in the top-flight and one in the Carabao Cup. He last took charge of a game on Saturday, as Wolverhampton Wanderers defeated AFC Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.
