Scott Gardner gave his thoughts on the hard-fought point his side earned away at Blackburn Rovers on Saturday lunchtime.
The Whites travelled to the league leaders and could have secured all three points, but were pleased to get one in the end courtesy of Lui Bradbury’s late penalty.
“After two disappointing defeats, today we looked more like a Leeds United side and created more chances than we have in the last two games,” Gardner explained.
“It was a difficult game away from home against top of the league. I feel like we maybe should have come away with more than a point but the lads did well overall.
“I thought the first half was a little bit scrappy, then in the second I was disappointed to concede the goal we did.
“We had enough chances to win the game in my eyes, but we are happy to come away with the point overall although we were still pushing for a winner at the end."
Leeds conceded a stunning free-kick against the hosts, but overall stopped the home side from creating chances on goal, before netting the late equaliser from the spot.
Gardner said: “We’re limiting the opposition to fewer chances too which is important.
“I think they only had one real chance inside the box, so defensively we were pretty solid.
“Lui is confident and clinical in those situations, so we were confident when he stepped up to take the penalty for us.
“He showed his confidence and we were all really pleased to see it go in.”
