Leeds United forward, Rodrigo has been speaking with the media over the international break, discussing his recent matches.
The forward has had a key role leading the line lately and is enjoying playing regularly in Marcelo Bielsa’s side, who claimed an important three points last time out at home to Watford.
“I feel really happy and comfortable to be playing some games in a row,” Rodrigo explained.
“For every player it is important to play as many games as possible. I think as a team we are in a good way.
“We know that we didn’t start the season as we wanted to do so, but at the same time we deserve more than we have in terms of points in my opinion.
“Overall I feel good, I feel comfortable, and I feel happy, especially in the last game when we got the first win of the season for us.”
The striker was asked whether a sustained run of matches in the team will help unleash more from his game, and areas he would like to improve going forward.
He said: “I always expect something else from myself. It’s true that I think I am playing well but I always have something to improve and do better.
“To be honest, I just think now I am really happy to be able to play a lot of games in a row and in my opinion, help the team with good performances.
“I would like to score more goals! I am playing as an attacking player, as a striker or number 10, so I am trying to do my best, but I feel I can do better.”
A particular close bond on and off the pitch has been formed with the now Brazilian international, Raphinha. Rodrigo spoke of the reasoning behind the two bonding in their first year at Leeds United.
“I think Raphinha is an amazing player and has shown his qualities since he arrived here last season, I am really really happy for him!” Rodrigo commented.
“We’ve established a good relationship between each other and our families, especially last year because we couldn’t do anything with the lockdown situation, so we spent a lot of time together.
“I think this good relationship outside of the field transferred onto it, so we understand each other really well and I am really happy for him getting in the national team!”
