Leeds United travelled away from home on Saturday to face Norwich City. A pulsating match saw the Whites go two-goals behind, before producing a sensational second half comeback to claim the three points.
Daniel Farke named an unchanged XI from the side which beat Bristol City at Elland Road, in the game prior to the international break.
Returning to Carrow Road for the first time as Leeds manager, Farke saw his side fall behind inside four minutes, as Gabriel Sara’s near-post corner was flicked home by Shane Duffy to open the scoring.
Leeds responded well to going behind and were on the front foot, creating chances. Both Dan James and Crysencio Summerville created space to shoot, but neither found the target.
Next to go close was Georginio Rutter who forced a good save, before Glen Kamara dragged an effort just past the post when in the box, and moments later Joel Piroe shot narrowly wide from just outside the area.
Angus Gunn had seen his goal pelted with chances but hadn’t been troubled too much. However, the goalkeeper picked up an injury and was replaced by George Long between the posts, with just over 30 minutes played.
Approaching the interval, the Canaries showed a clinical nature and took their chance at the other end, to double the lead going into the break.
Gabriel Sara had looked lively throughout the half and did well to collect the ball in the box, twist, turn then smash beyond Illan Meslier into the back of the net to extend the advantage when the teams went into their dressing rooms.
HALF TIME: Norwich City 2-0 Leeds United
Out for the second 45 minutes at Carrow Road, Farke would be looking for his side to find a way back into the match and turn the many chances they had created, into goals. Neither side had made a change when they reemerged from the tunnel.
The early chances did come from the Whites, with Summerville looking lively. The winger worked his way into the box and found space to shoot, only to see his effort well blocked by Ben Gibson.
Just after the hour-mark had passed in the match, Leeds finally found the net! Georginio played in James down the wing, he evaded a challenge before firing in a low cross which was turned into his own goal from Norwich’s first half scorer, Duffy.
Straight down the opposite end, Meslier was then called into action. The home side lined a free-kick up and Sara stopped up to curl at goal, seeing his effort denied by the dive of Meslier to push it clear.
A double change came from the visiting bench. Wilfried Gnonto and Patrick Bamford entered, replacing Sam Byram and Kamara.
The sheer domination of chances and possession from Leeds saw more efforts on goal. Ethan Ampadu had an strike turned just wide, before James went even closer when his shot was turned onto the post by Long.
From the following corner though, the Whites finally and deservedly equalised. Summerville had been a threat all game and his superb curling effort found the net, off the inside of the post to make it two-apiece.
The hosts responded by making a triple change, bringing on former Leeds midfielder Adam Forshaw, along with Christian Fassnacht and Ui Jo Huang.
Into the final five minutes, the Whites completed the turnaround and went into the lead, creating pandemonium in the away end.
Rutter played the ball to Summerville in space and the winger ran from his own half and beat everyone in his way, before producing another stunning finish into the far corner to give Leeds the lead!
When the clock ticked over the 90 minute mark, eight minutes stoppage time was shown, meaning there was still work to be done. On came Liam Cooper and Luke Ayling from the bench.
Farke’s side were able to control the final few minutes, securing a massive and mightily impressive three points on the road.
