Leeds made it back to back cup wins with a 3-1 win at home to Stockport County on Sunday afternoon in the League Cup Plate.

The Whites, who were looking to book a place in the last 16 at the Global Stadium in Tadcaster, were first on the attack with midfielder Kathryn Smith shooting wide from 25 yards.

Rebekah Bass then fired over from the corner of the penalty area. The hosts continued on the attack with Abbie Brown forcing an excellent save from Jessica Linford.

Leeds took the lead on 16 minutes when Rebecca Hunt smashed in following brilliant approach work from Laura Bartup.

Bartup herself fired wide following a cross from Brown shortly after, as she looked to extend her impressive goalscoring run of late.

Lauren Joyce in the Leeds goal was largely untested but got down well to save from Jess Battle and watched Levi Rathburn’s shot dip over the bar as Leeds went in at the break in front.

The second period took a while to get going until Rebekah Bass fired in her first goal for the club from an acute angle to double the home sides lead on 56 minutes.

Stockport got one back when Bartup was unfortunate to header the ball into her own net from a Lauren Robson free kick.

Leeds responded when Bass fired just wide but had a scare five minutes from time when Jess Battle poked just wide when clean through.

Leeds made the game safe and booked a place in the last 16 when Abbie Brown scored from the spot, after Kathryn Smith was felled in the area.
