Rebecca Hunt has spoken to LUTV after playing for Leeds United Women in their pre-season friendly on Sunday afternoon.
The Whites drew with Hashtag United in a well contested 90 minutes, in a match that saw both teams on top at various stages.
“It’s brilliant to be back,” Hunt told LUTV.
“I’ve been out with an ankle injury for a little bit, so it was my first game back and it was great to be out there with all the girls playing again, a good experience.
“I think first half we were the better team and they would probably agree with that. I think we were a bit unlucky not to have scored a few more.
“In the second half, they came out with a bit of vengeance and fair play to them, they’ve scored and been the stronger team in the second half so we give them credit for that.”
With the season getting underway away at Stockport County on Sunday 15th August, Hunt is clear in what the squad want to achieve this year and is looking forward to the big kick-off.
She said: “It’s exciting, we’re just playing lots of games at the minute, we’ve got three games coming up in the next week so recovery is important as well.
“I think everyone is now raring to get going, especially with everything that has gone on with Covid as well, everyone wants to be back playing.
“This is my fifth year with the club so I would love to be able to win promotion. So would the rest of the girls, so that is what our focus is on and we move towards that.”
