Whites return to Sky Bet Championship action.

Leeds United are back on Sky Bet Championship duties following the international break, with the first match of an Easter weekend double-header coming away at Watford.

Daniel Farke’s side head into the clash top of the table after a hard-fought 2-0 victory last time out over Millwall continued the Whites’ excellent unbeaten start to 2024.

Goals from Willy Gnonto and Dan James saw United brush aside a resurgent Lions outfit under the recently appointed Neil Harris, making it 12 wins from 13 since the turn of the year.

That win rounded off a gruelling schedule for Leeds, which also brought wins against Stoke City and Sheffield Wednesday. United's steadfast defence continued to impress during that run, earning three clean sheets.

A home defeat against Coventry earlier this month signalled the end for Valerien Ismael at Vicarage Road, with the Watford hierarchy placing former England international Tom Cleverley in charge on an interim basis.

In his only game in the dugout before the break, the ex-Hornets midfielder oversaw a 1-0 victory on the road against Birmingham City, thanks to Emmanuel Dennis’ first-half strike at St Andrew’s.

The two sides have already met once this campaign, with a stunning second-half display seeing the Whites run out 3-0 winners at Elland Road, courtesy of goals from Joel Piroe, Sam Byram and Jaidon Anthony in September.

Forward Georginio Rutter was in scintillating form on the day, notably dancing past a number of yellow shirts before setting Anthony away to grab his first goal for the club.

That made it back-to-back 3-0 victories over the Hornets, after Raphinha and Rodrigo inspired the Whites to a resounding Premier League victory back in 2022.

Stop that Georgi!
