Leeds United Women make the short trip over the Pennines to face Stockport County in Sunday’s FAWNL Division One North clash.

After being narrowly edged out by Huddersfield Town in the season’s opener, the Whites have bounced back in style with victories over AFC Fylde and Halifax Women.

Victory over the Coasters came in the league as Simon Wood’s side fought from a goal down at the break to record a 3-1 triumph, with Sian Gibrill-Keating, Kath Smith and Sarah Danby amongst the goals.

Danby would again get on the scoresheet as Leeds progressed through to the next round of the FAWNL Cup with victory over Halifax, netting the opener before Drew Greene added a second late on.

Stockport kicked off their campaign with a comfortable 3-0 win over Norton & Stockton Ancients, before falling to defeat away at Huddersfield last time out.

The Hatters bowed out of the FAWNL Cup during the week as they lost 3-2 to Northern Premier Division side Liverpool Feds and will now compete in the FAWNL Plate for the remainder of their cup journey.

The fixture last term produced a six-goal thriller as the sides played out a scintillating 3-3 draw in Cheshire, with Ellie Dobson and Jess Rousseau finding the back of the net.

Action from Stockport Sports Village gets underway at 2pm.
