Whites back in league action.

Leeds United Women travel to Stockport County Ladies in Sunday’s FAWNL Division One North clash as they look to finish their season strongly.

Simon Wood’s side will be keen to build on last weekend’s emphatic win over Chorley on home soil, which saw recently crowned Women’s Player of the Year for the 2023/24 season Jess Rousseau add another two goals to her impressive tally, making it 23 in all competitions from 24 appearances.

Substitute Kath Smith got in on the action against the Lancashire outfit as well, with the midfielder grabbing a brace thanks to a well-taken header and composed penalty kick at Garforth’s Bannister Prentice Stadium.

That result sees the Whites extend the gap to three points over sixth-placed County, with the Hatters held to a frustrating goalless draw away at struggling Chester le Street Town a fortnight ago.

It is away from league duties where Steve O’Hara’s side have enjoyed most success this campaign, booking their spot in the Cheshire FA Women's Cup Final where they will face Runcorn Linnets Ladies for a chance to get their hands on silverware.

The two teams met in this season's curtain raiser back in August, when Rousseau and Danielle Whitham struck to help United come from a goal down to get their campaign off to a winning start.

Action from Stockport Sports Village gets underway from 2pm.
