Carabao Cup action for the Whites.

Leeds United will play their Carabao Cup Second Round clash on Tuesday evening, taking on Salford City away from home.

The Whites head to the Peninsula Stadium for the 8pm kick-off in Salford, for just the second meeting between the two teams in their history.

Having met in 2019 in the first round of the same competition, goals from Eddie Nketiah, Gaetano Berardi and Mateusz Klich would confirm a safe passage through to the next stage.

Getting to this point saw both teams have to overcome sturn tests. Leeds had to come from behind against Shrewsbury Town at Elland Road and did so, with goals from Joe Gelhardt and Pascal Struijk cancelling our Taylor Perry’s opener.

Salford produced a memorable win away from home for their supporters, overcoming local side Preston North End.

A 2-2 draw in normal time where Connor McLennan netted a double meant penalties where needed, and The Ammies progressed with a 4-2 shootout victory.

Neil Wood’s side have had an indifferent start to their Sky Bet League Two campaign up to now. They’ve won two, lost two and drawn one of their opening five games.

From those five matches, Wood’s players have found the net eight times as well as conceding eight times, with Callum Hendry leading the goal chart with three up to now.
