Leeds United Women face a top-of-the-table clash with Newcastle United on Sunday afternoon, away from home (2pm).

The two teams currently sit second and third in the FA Women’s National League Division One North table, with the points vital for each side as the season draws ever closer to its conclusion.

The Whites are aiming to return to winning ways in the league after drawing their last FAWNL match on home turf against West Yorkshire rivals, Bradford City. Dan O’Hearne’s side did follow that draw up with a win against the same opponents a few days later though, progressing to the County Cup final.

Sunday’s hosts are on a nine match winning run in the division, last losing away at league leaders Liverpool Feds in September. The Magpies are just five points behind Feds who are top of the table, but do have a game in hand.

The gap between Newcastle and Leeds stands at 10 points, but the Whites have played less games whilst also having the opportunity to close the gap on Sunday afternoon when the teams play.
