Rick Passmoor:
The manager spoke to LUTV after the Newcastle defeat, he emphasised the importance of a positive response to the loss with a big finish in the league and a cup final ahead.
“We’ve got games coming up thick and fast in the league and cup and [the players] have got to play for their shirt.” Passmoor said.
“We’ve got a big end to the season, we want to finish as high as we can in the league, do as well as we can on a matchday and we have a cup final round the corner.
“We’ve got to bounce back from today, in training and in future games. The games coming up are tough games, so they have got to earn their shirt in those games to be thought of for Stourbridge in the final.”
Previous meetings:
This is the third meeting between the two sides this season and Leeds will be looking for their first win against a strong York side.
The Minsterbelles ran out 2-0 winners in the FAWNL Cup First Round back in September and the spoils were shared after a 1-1 draw in the league at LNER Community Stadium three weeks later.
Players to watch:
Former Whites player Alice Hughes is York’s joint-top scorer this season with nine goals. Young forward Felicity Jones also has nine.
Abbie Brown is Leeds’ top scorer with 12, she will be looking to add to her tally and repeat the feat of scoring against York as she did earlier in the season, netting the equaliser in the 1-1 draw.
