Elland Road is the venue this Sunday as Leeds United Women face York City Ladies in their next FA WNL Division One North clash.
With over 4,000 tickets sold so far, the Whites head into the fixture in fine form, having won their last five outings in the league.
Hard-fought home victories over Durham Cestria and Doncaster Rovers Belles kick started the rich vein of form for Simon Wood’s side, before picking up an impressive 3-2 win away at Cheadle Town.
Keen to keep pace with table-topping Middlesbrough, United then earned the Yorkshire bragging rights in a derby day success over Barnsley, with Amy Woodruff on target against her former club in the 2-0 triumph.
A stern away test followed for the Whites against high-flying Chorley where a scintillating first half saw Leeds race into the three-goal lead at the break, thanks to Sian Gibrill-Keating’s brace and Drew Greene’s predatory strike.
The Lancashire outfit fought back to make it 3-2 and set up a nervy ending, but the Whites’ resolute defence stood firm to earn a hugely important win.
Those results leave United just one point adrift of Boro, having picked up 10 more points than 11th-placed York City.
Emily Senior’s MinsterBelles had struggled for form to start the new campaign, though a fine performance last time out saw them run out 4-3 winners over Stockport County on home soil.
The last time the two sides met, a superb hat-trick from sharpshooter Jess Rousseau inspired United to a 5-1 victory over York in March.
Action from Elland Road gets underway at 2pm.
