Leeds United Women take on Stourbridge FC Women on Sunday afternoon, in the final of the FAWNL Plate.
The match will be played at The ARMCO Arena in Solihull (B92 9EJ), getting underway at 3:30pm in the West Midlands.
To reach the final, Rick Passmoor’s side had to overcome tough opponents along the way. A 3-1 win against Solihull Moors was followed up with an impressive 2-1 victory against higher league opponents, West Bromwich Albion.
A first away trip of the competition saw Leeds travel to the Fylde Coast, coming away with a 2-1 win against higher league opposition again, AFC Fylde.
A semi-final success over Southampton Women booked Sunday’s final appearance, courtesy of an Amy Woodruff double in a 2-0 win at the So-Trak Stadium.
Stourbridge will prove tough opponents again for Leeds. They currently sit top of their league table, playing at the same level as the Whites but in the Midlands section of the competition. A 16-1 win last time out at Long Eaton United showed a ruthlessness in front of goal.
Stourbridge’s FAWNL Plate journey began with an extra-time win against Leafed Athletic on home turf. A 4-0 away win at Peterborough United was more comprehensive, before a tough away trip against Hull City saw them claim a 2-1 success.
The semi-final matched The Glassgirls up against Crawley Wasps on home turf. Goals from Niamh Deasy, Amber Ireson-Lawrence and Millie Rogers sent them through to the final with a 3-0 win.
The two teams have both been in good scoring form throughout the season. For Leeds, the front two of Amy Woodruff and Abbie Brown have both scored 11 goals each in all competitions.
Sunday’s opposition will have their division’s top scorer leading their forward line. The previously mentioned Niamh Deasy has scored 22 goals from 20 matches, with Lyndsey Glover also a threat with 10 to her name.
