Leeds United Women return to FA Women’s National League Division One North action on home turf on Sunday afternoon after a number of recent away trips (14:00 kick-off).
The Whites come into the game on the back of a morale boosting victory away at rivals Bradford City in the West Yorkshire derby, which saw Laura Bartup net twice to claim the three points.
Now facing Chorley Women, Rick Passmoor’s team will have another tough test in front of them against a side who have proved tough opposition in recent seasons for teams across the league.
Currently sat in 10th place at this early stage of the campaign, Chorley have won just the one game and drawn twice, whilst losing three from their opening six matches. However, their threats are clear and the Whites will need to remain on form throughout the 90 minutes to claim victory.
Last season, the two teams faced off in two battling matches. The Magpies took four points from those games with a 2-1 victory on home turf being followed up with a 1-1 draw at the So-Trak Stadium in Tadcaster.
With just the one loss on the road so far for Conor Dower’s Chorley side - who have recently claimed commendable draws at both Newcastle United as well as Norton & Stockton Ancients - they have proven a resilience and battling mentality.
Passmoor’s Leeds United side are 3rd in the league table at the moment, just one point behind league leaders Barnsley and second placed Newcastle.
An exciting and hard-fought encounter is expected at the So-Trak Stadium on Sunday afternoon and fans can either attend the match in person with ticket details below, or alternatively read all about the game on leedsunited.com whilst catching the highlights on LUTV afterwards.
