Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United side face fierce rivals Manchester United, at Elland Road on Sunday afternoon (2pm).
The Whites go into the game unbeaten in their last five Premier League games, winning three. The Red Devils are also in fine form, having on their last five games.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have been impressive away from home this season, to say the least. They are yet to be defeated on their travels, having won 10 and drawn six from their 16 games thus far. Carrying on from the 2019/20 campaign, Manchester United are now 23 games unbeaten on the road.
A major factor in their success this season has been the form of the world-class, Bruno Fernandes. The midfielder is in his second year at Old Trafford and has been a constant threat to Premier League defences since arriving from Portugal.
Fernandes tops both the goal-scoring and assists charts for his side, but behind him and keeping the pressure on from another area of the pitch is the ever-lively Marcus Rashford. The forward is a slight injury doubt for the game, but if he plays, his pace and quality with the ball will need to watched closely.
For Leeds, the game-plan will be the same as they look to attack and go for three points. This is the first time that the club’s have met in the Premier League at Elland Road since October 2003, so it is going to be another in a long run of exciting and highly anticipated matches over recent weeks.
Currently sat second in the table, Solskjaer’s side will be looking to keep the pressure on league leaders, Manchester City, by reducing their lead at the top to eight points with a victory.
Leeds can move back above Arsenal and into ninth place with a point, but will want all three to not only go above the Gunners, but further extend the gap to 11th placed Aston Villa.

The key battle
Patrick Bamford vs Harry Maguire
Bamford will be looking to get in behind the Manchester United defence and continue his fine goalscoring season, on Sunday afternoon. The striker has 14 so far and will be looking to give Manchester United’s captain a hard time when going forward.
Maguire will be tasked with stopping Bamford, but he also has the ability to break forward and likes to run with the ball when he has the chance to do so. Leeds striker, Bamford, will be aiming to stop those runs, and if he doesn’t, looking to exploit the space left behind when Maguire goes forward.
