Leeds United face Birmingham City at Elland Road on Monday afternoon (3pm), which will be the first match of 2024 for each side.
This New Year’s Day clash will see both teams aiming to return to winning ways after some tough recent form. The Whites have lost their last two, both away from home, against Preston North End and West Bromwich Albion.
Daniel Farke’s side are now fourth in the Sky Bet Championship standings after 25 matches played, in what remains a highly competitive battle at the top end of the table.
Birmingham have lost two and drawn two of their last four, but an overall run of just two wins in their last 14 is a stark contrast to their strong start to the campaign, which saw them occupy a play-off place in October.
The Blues are now 20th in the league but like many other teams, points would see movement. If our West Midlands opponents take three points at Elland Road, they could move up as high as 15th, depending on results elsewhere.
At home, Leeds have won eight and drawn four from 12 games, scoring 26 and conceding 10. On the road, City have won twice, drawn twice and lost eight from their 12 attempts.
When the two teams met at St Andrew’s earlier in the campaign, the hosts won the game 1-0, courtesy of a stoppage time penalty from Lukas Jutkiewicz.
Kick-off in West Yorkshire is at 3pm and supporter information can be found further down the page, as well as streaming information for fans around the world.
