Leeds United will play their second pre-season friendly in front of fans this weekend, facing AS Monaco at the City of York Council’s LNER Community Stadium (4pm).

Daniel Farke’s side have been working hard over pre-season and will now face their Ligue 1 counterparts in York, as both teams step up their preparations ahead of the new campaign.

The newly appointed first team manager of the Whites will have a first opportunity to lead his side in front of the Whites fans on home soil, having previously overseen the first friendly of pre-season against Manchester United at the Ullevaal Stadium in Norway.

Monaco come into the match having faced the Whites recently, with the two teams facing one another in the Winter World Cup break during December 2022. Les Rouge et Blanc finished the season in 6th place.

Adi Hutter has been appointed as the new head coach at the Louis II Stadium. The 53-year-old Austrian has agreed a two year contract and brings with him plenty of experience, having managed a number of clubs at the top level in different countries since beginning his managerial career in 2008.

Fans could have the opportunity to see new signing Ethan Ampadu in action for the first time as well. The 22-year-old Welsh international signed a four-year contract at Elland Road this week and could make his debut on Saturday.

Supporters are reminded that the match is a 4pm kick-off in York and the stadium is now fully sold out.
