Leeds United face Birmingham City in their first Sky Bet Championship away match of the 2023/24 campaign.
The Whites travel to St Andrew’s looking for a first league win of the season after drawing their opening match at Elland Road against Cardiff City. Following a point from that one, Daniel Farke’s side then beat Shrewsbury Town in a midweek Carabao Cup clash.
After being one-goal down at the half-time break, goals from Joe Gelhardt and Pascal Struijk sealed the comeback in front of 35,129 supporters, which is now a record attendance for a First Round EFL Cup tie!
Following a similar path to Leeds, Saturday’s hosts have also began their new season with a draw, followed up by a win in the cup against League One opposition.
John Eustace’s side started their campaign away at Swansea City and went into a first half lead through new signing Siriki Dembele. However, the Swans hit back and earned a point in the second half.
Next up was an away match in the Carabao Cup against Cheltenham Town. A comfortable 2-0 success was the result, with Juninho Bacuna netting a first half double to seal progression into the next round.
The Whites strengthened their squad this week with the arrival of experienced central defender, Joe Rodon. The Welsh international has joined on a season-long loan from Tottenham Hotspur and if selected, could make his debut this weekend.
Kick-off at St Andrew’s is at 3:00pm and for those not in attendance, you can find more details on how to follow the game and keep up to date with it online, further down the page.
