The Leeds United Foundation hosted various local schools at Thorp Arch recently with hundreds of youngsters taking part in a tournament with the chance to represent Leeds United at the EFL Kids Cup and the Primary Stars National Girls Competition.

The qualifying rounds were previously held in October and November last year, across three different venues, with the top two teams from each event going through to the Leeds Finals Day at the Leeds United Training Ground.

Each event was run and delivered by the club’s official charity, and it was Woodlesford Primary School and The Grammar School at Leeds that both found success during the finals, going on to win their tournaments.

The morning session consisted of six local mixed teams all vying for a place in the EFL Kids Cup with Woodlesford Primary taking on St Joseph’s in Wetherby in the final, whilst the afternoon session saw various girl’s teams vying for the top spot to represent Leeds United in the regional finals of the Primary Stars National Girls Competition.

Everyone at the Leeds United Foundation would like to thank all of the students and teachers who were involved in the event at Thorp Arch, and also wish the best of luck to The Grammar School at Leeds who travel to Huddersfield at the end of February and Woodlesford Primary who will compete in the EFL regional finals in Leeds in March.
