Eight years
Under the guidance of boss Chris Hughton, the Seagulls were promoted to the Premier League following a second-place finish in the 2016-17 Championship campaign. After a few years of consolidation, the South Coast outfit have established themselves as an exciting, youthful side which has included a run to the Europa League Round of 16.
Last season:
Following the departure of boss Roberto De Zerbi, Albion turned to the services of St. Pauli manager Fabian Hürzeler. In his first campaign in England, the German guided his new side to an impressive eighth-place finish, recording 16 victories along the way. Attackers Kaoru Mitoma and Danny Welbeck top scored with 11 goals respectively.
One to watch:
An international teammate of Whites’ midfielder Ao Tanaka, Kaoru Mitoma’s performances in a blue and white shirt have been noteworthy ever since he returned from a loan spell at Belgian side Union Saint-Gilloise. A skilful winger, Mitoma has been capped by his country on 27 occasions.
